Then I reassembled the parts, arranged all the wires (sort of), and closed the back, using a brass latch to make sure it stayed shut.


Finally, I booted the machine up, and fortunately it hadn't taken too badly to my surgery and the whole system ran.


With everything running there was nothing left to do but hang it and let the photos scroll by.


With only about half an inch of space behind it I was originally worried about heat, but after several weeks, it has maintained a steady 44 C. Also the inclusion of the remote worked wonders with my wife since she can easily wake the machine up from stand by as well as manually scroll through the photos.
